Montagno Construction served as the Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) for the historic restoration and phased renovation of the Slocum Child Development Center, an active daycare facility. The scope of work included installing a new roof, replacing windows, updating the HVAC system, repointing and replacing exterior masonry, and adding the building’s first elevator to improve accessibility. Additionally, all interior surfaces and finishes were renovated to modern standards. The third floor was also prepared for future interior fit-out. This project was funded by the Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) to enhance the facility’s functionality and ensure a safe, updated environment for the children and staff.
