Mattatuck Museum

Montagno Construction performed a meticulous historic restoration of the 19th-century Masonic Temple façade, now home to the Mattatuck Museum. The scope of work included asbestos and lead abatement, restoration of original windows—including intricate stained glass—and limestone repairs. Ornamental metal replacements, such as copper flashing, were also completed to preserve the architectural character, alongside fresh exterior painting. Interior upgrades included renovations to the museum’s common gathering spaces and an exhibit gallery, all while the facility remained fully occupied and operational. This National Historical Restoration Project revitalized an urban landmark, enhancing both its historical value and visitor experience.
