Cheshire Academy, Motter Hall

Montagno Construction built Motter Hall, a 25,000 square-foot, 3-story girls’ dormitory with faculty housing at Cheshire Academy. The building includes 30 traditional 2-student dorm rooms, interspersed with faculty apartments on each level to provide supervision at all hours. Designed with a hybrid light gauge steel and wood structure, the building features a Hardiplank clapboard exterior to blend seamlessly with the rural setting. Equipped with an elevator and fire sprinklers throughout, the facility meets modern safety and accessibility standards. Site work included the abatement and demolition of an existing building, installation of new utilities, drainage, landscaping, sidewalks, patios, and retaining walls to accommodate the site’s varying grades.
