The Guilford House

Montagno Construction served as Construction Manager for the expansion and renovation of this skilled nursing facility, tripling its square footage. The work was completed while the existing facility was occupied, requiring the preparation of detailed phasing and safety plans, including emergency egress strategies and procedures.

After initial demolition of existing out structures and a portion of the nursing home, the 32,000 sf addition was constructed with all new infrastructure including new electric service, new  gas service, relocated water service, new wastewater treatment plant, storm drainage, and retention ponds.

All residents and staff were moved, then the original remaining building of 15,000 sf was entirely renovated and a second, 4000 sf addition became the reception area and new dining room.

This project was funded through HUD and was completed in 2 years.

“The true test of the value of a contractor is when unforeseen issues arise from differing site or engineering conditions that require flexibility and innovation. Montagno met every challenge in this critical area of project management, and moreover satisfied the balance of ownership, professionals, and contractor interests.”
