Montagno Construction prepared a challenging 17-acre site for CarMax, overcoming a 130-foot elevation change by blasting and moving 120,000 cubic yards of material, constructing 1,200 linear feet of retaining walls up to 20 feet high, and installing two underground detention systems to create a 12-acre plateau. In Phase 2, we built 21,000 square feet of space across multiple buildings for CarMax’s showroom, offices, customer kiosks, and vehicle preparation facilities, supporting mechanical repair, auto body work, fueling, detailing, and photography of inventory. Our scope also included the installation of a 12,000-gallon underground fuel tank, new utilities, site lighting, landscaping, and all paving.
