Montagno Construction Celebrates Ribbon Cutting of Valley Street Townhomes in New Haven
On June 2024, the Housing Authority of the City of New Haven, The Glendower Group, Montagno Construction, and architect Paul B. Bailey Architect LLC proudly celebrated the grand opening of Valley Street Townhomes with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
This transformative project introduces 40 brand-new affordable townhomes, alongside nine newly constructed apartment buildings and a community clubhouse. The development spans 86,000 square feet, featuring passive house-certified buildings designed for exceptional energy efficiency, airtight insulation, and high-quality ventilation—helping meet net-zero energy standards.
The project was made possible through financing that leveraged 9% tax credits, as well as state, local, and federal funds. In addition to creating sustainable housing, the scope included full site development with brand-new infrastructure, ensuring long-term livability and accessibility for residents.
Montagno Construction, serving as the construction manager, is honored to have played a key role in bringing this vision to life. We are so pleased to have teamed up with an amazing group to help transform this neighborhood, creating a vibrant new community that residents can be proud to call home.
This project was funded through Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), with financial support from the State of Connecticut Department of Housing and HUD. The development was also built in compliance with CHRO S/M/W/BE and HUD Section 3 requirements, reinforcing our commitment to inclusive and equitable construction practices.
We are thrilled to see Valley Street Townhomes become a cornerstone of positive change in New Haven. Congratulations to everyone involved in making this vision a reality!
