The project site, formerly two vacant lots and an old car dealership, underwent extensive remediation to address its Brownfield status. The new downtown Windsor location is situated just 1/2 mile from the Windsor train station and offers convenient walking access to a 95-acre open space. This project was funded by the developer owner.

Ground Breaking

The groundbreaking ceremony for The Residence at Bowfield Green took place on June 3, 2024, marking the beginning of this exciting mixed-use development in downtown Windsor, Connecticut2. The project, led by Sachdev Real Estate Development, is valued at over $20 million and will transform a former Brownfield site into a vibrant residential and retail space.

The development includes 77 market-rate apartments—a mix of studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units—alongside 7,000 square feet of retail space. The location at 125 Poquonock Ave is strategically placed within walking distance of a 95-acre open space park and just half a mile from the Windsor train station, making it a key component of Windsor’s transit-oriented development plans.

Local officials and members of the development team gathered for the ceremony, celebrating the project’s potential to revitalize the area. The developer, Dr. Mohan Sachdev, expects to begin leasing residential and retail spaces in early 2025, with full completion anticipated by fall 2025.
