Montagno Construction was chosen to build The WYSH House, a 10,000 square-foot facility located in Meriden’s historic district. The development provides 12 efficiency apartments for young adults aged 18-24 and includes office spaces, gathering areas, and a research center on the first floor. Built on a tight urban site with a 100-year-old culvert running underground just outside the building footprint, special care was taken to preserve the culvert’s integrity throughout construction. Completed in just nine months, the project was funded through a combination of private, Department of Housing (DOH), HUD, and CHFA funds, with CHRO requirements. The WYSH House was recognized for its excellence in design and execution, winning First Place in its category.
