St. Patrick’s Hall, University of Connecticut

Montagno Construction transformed the fire-damaged, abandoned St. Patrick’s Hall into a vibrant, multipurpose facility for the University of Connecticut Waterbury. This 4-story building underwent a complete gut-rehabilitation and historic restoration, which included the construction of a new roof structure, the installation of an elevator, and a 6-foot-wide, 4-story addition to expand restroom facilities. The exterior masonry was carefully restored, and all new electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and telecom systems were installed. The interior features high-end windows, doors, fixtures, and unique architectural details, including curvaceous walls and two distinctive ovoid conference rooms. Today, St. Patrick’s Hall serves as a dynamic space for UConn Waterbury, housing lecture halls, event spaces, adjunct professor offices, and a publicly accessible Starbucks.
