Montagno Construction was selected for the redevelopment of Linden Street Apartments, a 44-unit mixed-income residential community located in the Historic Hillside Neighborhood of Waterbury, Connecticut, which is listed on the National and State Register of Historic Places. The site, previously occupied by a blighted office building, a vacant multifamily property, and three empty lots, was transformed into a vibrant housing development. The new community includes 11 one-bedroom, 28 two-bedroom, and 5 three-bedroom units, providing affordable housing for individuals and families earning between 25% and 100% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Deed-restricted for 40 years, the development was funded in part by Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and a permanent mortgage from the State of Connecticut Department of Housing. This project contributes to the revitalization of a historic area while addressing the need for affordable housing.
