New Britain Chrysalis Townhomes, a new 28-unit development situated in the heart of the Little Poland neighborhood of New Britain. This project transforms a vacant lot into a vibrant mixed-income residential community, consisting of 28 two-bedroom units.
High-quality housing for families facing homelessness or domestic violence, this development is partially funded by the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program, with additional financing provided by a permanent mortgage from the State of Connecticut Department of Housing.

NEW BRITAIN — The Chrysalis Center Housing Development Corporation held the groundbreaking ceremony for its newest affordable development project, Berkowitz II, at 608 Main St. in Little Poland.
The completed project will feature 28 two-bedroom townhouse units adjacent to the Berkowitz for families across different income levels.
Work has begun on a 28-unit townhouse development on a former parking lot site in New Britain.
The Berkowitz II, located at 608 Main St. in the city’s Little Poland neighborhood, is being developed by Chrysalis Center Housing Development Corp. with support from the state Department of Housing.
State and local officials attended a groundbreaking ceremony held April 25.
The townhouses will feature two bedrooms and cater to families across income brackets.
The new development is the second iteration of The Berkowitz, a similar development with 24 affordable apartments on an adjacent property, also developed by Chrysalis Center.
