The Order of Excellence Award is presented by Contemporary Long Term Care magazine to recognize outstanding facilities. National judging is based upon quality, innovation, and cost-effectiveness. Montagno Construction, Inc. is proud to have been a part of this award winning project.

Project Description: Forestville Health and Rehabilitation Center is a 120-bed nursing home facility which required major renovations and new construction. AThe facility serves medically complex subacute patients, including those on ventilators; a unit for short-term rehabilitation patients; and two units for longterm-care patients. Materials were chosen for ease of maintenance but also for appearance. Impact-resistant handrails, bumper rails, and corner guards protect walls from damage from wheelchairs and carts. The round nurses’ station shown above was renovated to include new work surfaces and movable cabinets for greater flexibility. The project was selected for an Excellence Award for “ . . . reflecting residential hospitality and quality, while meeting the challenge of transforming an existing institutional facility into a place where the needs of special-care residents remained the focal point”.
